The Xperia Tablet Z may have won for the thinnest Android.
Xperia Tablet Z, made by Sony, weighs only 1.09 pounds and is just 0.27 inches thick with a 10.1 inch screen. Though amazingly slim, this decadent tablet holds some fancy parts such as a 2 megapixel front camera, 8 megapixel rear camera and 2 GB of RAM. Also included are 32GB of storage, a Micro SDXC card slot, 1.5 GHz quadcore processor, built in LTE connectivity and virtual surround sound speakers. At the Consumer Electronics Show, Sony announced comparisons between the Xperia Z smartphone and the Tablet Z. Both devices have NFC which is used for streaming a video or music from one device to the other by tapping the two devices together and both are waterproof and dustproof. Android 4.1 Jelly Bean software will be added to Tablet Z along with some apps such as a built-in photo editor and a slideshow, which can automatically select appropriate music.
The tablet is due for the Japanese market in spring, and unfortunately for everyone else, they are the only lucky ones yet to get their hands on this exceptional device. A trade show held in Barcelona at the end of February called Mobile World Congress, which covers the latest trends, should have more information available. Other than Google's Nexus 7, Hardware makers lately have not been as focused on producing good quality devices, making the Xperia Tablet Z a more likely contestant in winning the hearts of consumers.
